Short description

A family's road trip takes a dangerous turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park to stay with some relatives and find it mysteriously deserted. Under the cover of darkness, three masked killers pay them a visit to test the family's every limit as they struggle to survive.

What's left behind the scenes

One of the film's characters – a strange car with a mind of its own – is taken from Stephen King’s novel "Christine," later adapted into a film by John Carpenter.
When Kincaid tries to escape from the Doll in the police car, she knocks on the door glass and mockingly shows Kincaid the keys. This scene is a reference to Wes Craven's slasher film "Scream" (1996).
Kristina Hendricks agreed to the role in the film without reading the script, as she is a fan of the original "Strangers" with Liv Tyler.
The film contains direct references to Steven Spielberg's "Duel," John Carpenter's "Halloween" and "Christine," and there are also dedications to the legendary "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" and the film "Malèna" starring Monica Bellucci and Sophie Marceau.
The film’s atmosphere is largely built around 80s musical hits, notably Bonnie Tyler’s "Total Eclipse of the Heart."
The film takes place in a trailer park near Gatlin Lake. The town of Gatlin is also the setting for Fritz Kiersch’s film "Children of the Corn" (1984), based on the short story (1978) by Stephen King.
