Short description
Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
What's left behind the scenes
- At the time of its release, it was the most expensive film in the franchise. The previous record was held by Sam Mendes' "007: SPECTRE."
- In January 2021, the film's sponsors demanded reshoots of certain scenes based on product placement considerations (a hidden advertising technique where viewers see carefully selected props rather than blatant ads). Some of the products shown on screen had become outdated due to the year-and-a-half delay in the film's theatrical release caused by the coronavirus pandemic. For example, the Nokia smartphone in the advertisement (in the scene with Nomi, played by Lashana Lynch) had become significantly outdated during the delay (smartphones in general age quite rapidly due to the speed at which new models enter the market). On the poster, the outdated smartphone model was replaced with the latest one using computer graphics, while the original model remained in the film.
- The role of the Russian scientist Obruchev, played by David Dencik, was intended to be less significant according to the script, but Dencik's performance so impressed director Cary Joji Fukunaga that the role was expanded, and every effort was made to increase the character's screen time.

- Director Cary Joji Fukunaga wanted to film the bicycle stunt in the Italian city of Matera. Stunt coordinator Lee Morrison developed a jump over a wall on a bicycle. It was performed by Paul Edmondson, who rode down a ramp at a speed of about 37 km/h, flew over the wall, and landed safely.
- Ana de Armas (who played Paloma) was worried that she would perform poorly in the action scenes because she was given only three weeks to prepare for them. She mentioned this to director Cary Joji Fukunaga so often that he told her to repeat the same phrase in the film during a conversation with Bond, played by Daniel Craig. In the end, the line remained in the movie.
- It is claimed that Daniel Craig, who played Agent 007 James Bond, personally insisted on inviting Ana de Armas for the role of Paloma. Craig and de Armas had previously worked together under Rian Johnson in the detective comedy 'Knives Out' (2019), which was released approximately four months before the date originally planned for the release of the action film 'No Time to Die'.
