Short description

A car magnate watches his personal and professional life hit the skids because of his business and romantic indiscretions.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The first joint film featuring Michael Douglas and Danny DeVito in more than two decades after their roles in the tragicomedy 'The War of the Roses' (Danny DeVito, 1989).
  • The film's title coincides with the title of a song by Neil Diamond, which was performed by Johnny Cash (1932-2003) at the beginning of the film. Johnny Cash was repeatedly referred to as the “Man in Black” due to his love of black clothing. Michael Douglas’ character almost constantly wears black, with rare exceptions.
