- According to the plot, Zoolander and Hansel operate in Europe.
- The screenplay was entrusted to Justin Theroux, who previously worked with Ben Stiller on the script for "Tropic Thunder" (2008). About a month later, Stiller confirmed he would be assisting with the screenplay. "We are currently working on the script for the film. We only recently started. But yes, the process is underway," Stiller said. He later became the film's director.
