Short description

A burned-out New York police detective teams up with a college psychoanalyst to track down a vicious serial killer randomly stalking and killing various young women around the city.

After the film was banned in the United Kingdom in 1984, the country's chief censor, James Ferman, ordered all copies of "New York Ripper" to be removed from the country.
Initially, the lead role in the film was to be played by Katherine McColl, who had previously worked with Fulci on “City of the Living Dead” and “House by the Cemetery.”
