Short description
Once home to the most advanced civilization on Earth, Atlantis is now an underwater kingdom ruled by the power-hungry King Orm. With a vast army at his disposal, Orm plans to conquer the remaining oceanic people and then the surface world. Standing in his way is Arthur Curry, Orm's half-human, half-Atlantean brother and true heir to the throne.

- Before Jason Momoa was cast as Aquaman, Matt Damon and Simon Baker were considered for the role.
- At one point, Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way Productions was producing the film.
- The film is based on the "Aquaman" comic book series (2011-2013) by comic book writer and screenwriter Jeff Johns.
- When Aquaman and Mera travel to Atlantis, among the sunken objects on the seabed, you can see the Annabelle doll – a character from another franchise by director James Wan, "The Conjuring," which spawned the "Annabelle" series.
