Short description
Men & Chicken is a black comedy about two outcast brothers who, by getting to know their unknown family, discover a horrible truth about themselves and their relatives.
What's left behind the scenes
- The child's voiceover at the beginning and end of the film belongs to the director's daughter, Karen Marie Jensen.
- The old sanatorium where the brothers live is just a part of the sanatorium complex in Beelitz, near Berlin. The entire complex consists of 60 buildings constructed between 1898 and 1930. When the sanatorium was used as a military hospital during World War I, Adolf Hitler was among the wounded patients there. After World War II, it was used as a military hospital by the Soviet Union until 1994. Because it hasn't been modernized during this time, the complex is very popular among film studios. Scenes for films such as "The Pianist," "Valkyrie," and others were filmed on its grounds.
- The surname of the main characters' father, Thanatos, means "death" in Greek.
