Short description
A present-day idyllic kingdom where the benevolent teenage son of King Adam and Queen Belle offers a chance of redemption for the troublemaking offspring of Disney's classic villains: Cruella De Vil (Carlos), Maleficent (Mal), the Evil Queen (Evie) and Jafar (Jay).

- Before director Kenny Ortega joined the project, no one anticipated that it would be a musical.
- This isn't explained in the film, but Ben decided to allow some of the villains' children to live in Auradon because of a vision he had of a Mal-like girl from the Lost Boys.
- According to the script, Aziz, the son of Aladdin and Jasmine, was supposed to appear in the film, but for unknown reasons, this character was ultimately removed from the plot.
- It took over 2,000 hours to animate the dragon at the end of the film.
- The dog in the film is played by a female.
- Cameron Boyce lightened his hair specifically for the filming.
- Locations and sets previously seen in the Xavier Institute in the superhero action film *X2: X-Men United* (Bryan Singer, 2003), the Luthor Mansion in the series *Smallville* (2001-2011), and the Queen Manor in the series *Arrow* (2012) were used for filming some outdoor and interior scenes at Auradon Prep.
- Dove Cameron wears a purple wig in the film. She was not allowed to dye her hair because she was simultaneously filming the 2nd season of the series “Liv and Maddie” (2013-2017).
