Short description
As an American civilian truck driver working in Iraq, Paul Conroy's convoy is attacked by a group of Iraqi insurgents. Some time later, Paul awakes in a coffin with only a lighter, a cell phone, and his ever-growing anxiety. Faced with a dwindling oxygen supply and a dying battery, he must fight panic, despair, and delirium as he races against time to escape the claustrophobic death trap.
What's left behind the scenes
- Ryan Reynolds later stated that by the end of the film he began to suffer from claustrophobia, just like his character.
- The make of the phone Paul is speaking on is a BlackBerry.
- Samantha Mathis, who plays Paul Conroy's wife, previously appeared in "83 Hours 'Til Dawn" (1990), where she was buried alive.
- American distributors launched an interesting promotional campaign in which four contest winners were able to see the film before its release. The screening was held in closed coffins.
- A total of 7 coffins were used in the film.
- At one point during filming, Ryan Reynolds was completely buried in sand. Doctors were specifically present on set at that time.
