Short description

In 1983, a naive man is detained by Australian Federal Police with lethal narcotics hidden in his stomach. After being apprehended, ‘The Mule’ makes a desperate choice... to defy his bodily functions and withhold the evidence – literally.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The film was shot with an Arri Alexa camera and an anamorphic Panavision E-Series lens from the 1980s.
  • Angus Sampson injured his back while filming a shower scene.
  • When Detective Croft asks the judge to hold Ray for another 72 hours, the judge says he will grant half the time – 2 days, which is actually two-thirds of 72 hours.
