Short description
When the pets accidentally get separated from their vacationing owners, Chance, Shadow, and Sassy navigate the mean streets of San Francisco, trying to find their home across the Golden Gate Bridge. But the road is blocked by a series of hazards, both man and beast.
What's left behind the scenes
- In the scene where Shadow and Sessi say goodbye to Raleigh and cross the suspension bridge over the Golden Gate Strait, the animals were led on leashes, people were constantly nearby, and shards of glass were removed from the asphalt.
- In the scene where the animals flee the runway and escape—some under the chain-link fence and some over it—the fence and the barbed wire on top were made of plastic to ensure the animals weren't injured. The animals themselves were trained to climb either under or over the chain-link. Scenes in which the animals walk alongside the roadway were filmed with cars moving at low speeds. The scene with the truck was filmed in segments.
