Short description

Kafka, an insurance worker gets embroiled in an underground group after a co-worker is murdered. The underground group is responsible for bombings all over town, attempting to thwart a secret organization that controls the major events in society. He eventually penetrates the secret organization and must confront them.

What's left behind the scenes

  • In the film, Jeremy Irons' character writes a letter to his father with his right hand, although Kafka was left-handed.
  • In one scene, Jeremy Irons' character asks a character played by Jeroen Krabbé to burn his manuscripts if he doesn't return. Franz Kafka (1883-1924) actually made a similar request to his friend Max Brod (1884-1968) before his death. Brod was unable to do so, and Kafka's works were published.
