Short description

In Bodeen, Texas, an indie-rock loving misfit finds a way of dealing with her small-town misery after she discovers a roller derby league in nearby Austin.

What's left behind the scenes

When Ellen Page's character goes to the roller derby, she states she is 22 years old (instead of 17). In reality, this was the actress's age at the time of filming.
Filming took place in Detroit, Michigan, and involved roller derby players from a local team in the city.
The film is based on Shauna Cross's autobiographical novel "Derby Girl" (2007).
Elliot Page turned down a role in "Drag Me to Hell" (2009) to play Bliss.
