Short description

The film's screenplay was written by actress Carrie Fisher, based on her own semi-autobiographical book.
Scenes featuring John Cusack, who played one of Susanna's friends in the rehabilitation clinic, were cut.
Meryl Streep performed all the songs herself.
Shirley MacLaine is 15 years older than her on-screen daughter, Meryl Streep. In turn, actor Conrad Bain plays the father of MacLaine's character with an age difference of 11 years.
