Short description

An ordinary man is suddenly forced into a plot to kill a politician in exchange for his kidnapped daughter's freedom.

What's left behind the scenes

  • In 1995, Johnny had already played an accountant with a difficult fate in Jim Jarmusch’s black-and-white masterpiece, the enigmatic western “Dead Man”.
  • Johnny Depp performed the stunt of jumping from the fourth floor of the hotel into the pool himself.
  • Johnny Depp performed the scene where his character jumps from a 30-meter tower himself, without a stunt double.
  • The film was shot in late spring of 1995 in Los Angeles (California, USA) and Toronto (Ontario, Canada). The Bonaventure Hotel in the film is the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites — 404 S. Figueroa Street, Downtown, Los Angeles, California, USA.
  • In the film, stage time is equal to real time. The film lasts exactly as long as Watson has to commit the murder of the governor.
