Short description

The true story of the "Flying Sikh" world champion runner and Olympian Milkha Singh who overcame the massacre of his family, civil war during the India-Pakistan partition, and homelessness to become one of India's most iconic athletes.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Filming began in February 2012. Some episodes were filmed in Tokyo, Melbourne, and Rome.
  • His personal best time, 45.73 seconds (recorded at the Rome Olympics), was an Indian record for about 40 years.
  • In 1956 (at the time of the Melbourne Games), the world record was 45.2 seconds, not 45.9 as his coach writes, and it belonged to Lou Jones.
  • Milka never held the world record in the 400-meter race.
