Short description

Michael Harding returns home from military school to find his mother happily in love and living with her new boyfriend, David. As the two men get to know each other, Michael becomes more and more suspicious of the man who is always there with a helpful hand. Is he really the man of her dreams or could David be hiding a dark side?

What's left behind the scenes

  • The plot of the original film is based on the story of Richard List, who killed all his close relatives and went on the run. He was discovered only 18 years later, living under an assumed name. List was recognized by a neighbor who watched a television program about wanted criminals and called the police.
  • The scene in the trailer where a chainsaw passes back and forth inches from the hero's face was filmed and used in numerous promotional materials, but was cut from the film during editing.
