This is a film obsessed with who controls sound and who is silenced by it. Home feels safest not because of what we see there, but because of what we hear: familiar music, familiar voices, the quiet hum of ordinary life, all of it gradually stripped away. As the story moves into institutional spaces, that warmth vanishes, replaced by something colder and more mechanical. It's a subtle but effective inversion: the private sphere sounds human; the public sphere sounds like a machine.

It's rare to watch a historical thriller and leave thinking more about its ears than its eyes.
