What's left behind the scenes

  • The film was shot over six months – from May 21st to September 27th, 1979.
  • The special effects for the film were created by the renowned Italian film master Mario Bava, who passed away immediately after finishing work on the film.
  • A memorial plaque hangs on the house in New York where the events of the film took place, with the following text: “G. GURDJIEFF 1877—1949 RESIDED HERE DURING THE YEAR 1924”. Translated into Russian: “G. Gurdjieff 1877—1949 lived in this house in 1924”.
  • Gabriel Lavia’s character is named Carlo, the same name as his character in another Argento film, “Blood Red,” from 1975.
