- The role of Frank Catton, played by Bernie Mac, was originally intended for Danny Glover, but he preferred to star in 'The Royal Tenenbaums' (2001).
- During filming, a barrel of Guinness beer was installed in George Clooney's dressing room.
- Henry Silva and Angie Dickinson, who starred in "Ocean's 11" (1960), appeared in its remake in cameo roles (a fight scene).
- Initially, Don Rickles was chosen for the role of Sol Bloom.
