Short description
A murder in 1944 draws together the great poets of the beat generation: Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs.
What's left behind the scenes
- Filming took place from March to May 2012 in New York, as well as in its Queens borough and the East Village neighborhood in Lower Manhattan.
- In 2008, Daniel Radcliffe was cast as the young writer Allen Ginsberg, but due to his commitment to filming the last two installments of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," he was unable to be on set in time. Jesse Eisenberg was then chosen for the role, with Chris Evans slated to play young football player and future writer Jack Kerouac, and Ben Whishaw cast as Lucien Carr, Ginsberg's lover who introduced them. However, due to funding issues in 2009, filming never began. Therefore, when director John Krokidas revisited the production two years later, he re-offered the role to Radcliffe, ultimately assembling a new cast.
- This film marked John Krokidas's debut in feature-length filmmaking.
