Short description

"Notorious" is the story of Christopher Wallace. Through raw talent and sheer determination, Wallace transforms himself from Brooklyn street hustler (once selling crack to pregnant women) to one of the greatest rappers of all time: The Notorious B.I.G. Follow his meteoric rise to fame and his refusal to succumb to expectations - redefining our notion of "The American Dream."

What's left behind the scenes

  • The famous rapper as a child was played by Christopher Jordan Wallace, his eleven-year-old son at the time from his marriage to American singer and actress Faith Evans.
  • Initially, Antoine Fuqua was supposed to direct the film.
  • Actor Jamal Woolard intensely prepared for his role for many months, listening to and memorizing Notorious B.I.G.'s songs, gaining weight, and taking vocal lessons at the renowned Juilliard School in New York.
  • The film was based on the book by hip-hop journalist Cheo Hodari Coker titled “Unbelievable: The Life, Death and Afterlife of the Notorious B.I.G.,” which was published in March 2004.
  • During the open casting call announced in early October 2007 for the lead role, fairly well-known rappers Beanie Sigel and Guerilla Black auditioned. Young Jamaican reggae singer Sean Kingston also applied for the role and even publicly stated that he had already been cast.
  • Christopher Wallace Volett's mother acted as one of the film's producers.
