Short description
The civil war in China has ruined many lives including General Pang's. A wounded General Pang is saved by a beautiful young woman along with two other men. Together they vow to eradicate the rebels.
What's left behind the scenes
- Approximately 500 specially trained horses were used in the film.
- Actor Jet Li, who announced after the release of “Fearless” that he would no longer star in martial arts films, said that the film’s anti-war theme was the reason for his participation in the project.
- The description of the main battle took up over 20 pages, and the battle itself was filmed with 8 cameras simultaneously.
- The plot is based on the unsolved murder of the Qing dynasty general Ma Xinyi in 1870. Initially, the main character was to be given this historical figure's name, but the idea was abandoned due to potential objections from the general's descendants.
