Short description

A musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic ghost tale starring Albert Finney.

What's left behind the scenes

  • When Richard Harris turned down the role of Scrooge, Rex Harrison agreed to take it, but ultimately he was unable to film due to his commitment to a theatrical production. Notably, Harrison was having an affair with Harris's wife at the time (she later married Harrison).
  • Albert Finney also initially didn’t want to play Scrooge, but changed his mind after reading the script.
