Short description

Lovestruck Dustin is dating Alexis, his ideal girlfriend, but when she dumps him for coming on too strong, Dustin takes drastic measures to win her back. He asks his best friend Tank to take her on the worst rebound date imaginable - his side job - so that she will come running back to him, and Tank reluctantly agrees. However, Alexis is more than a match for Tank's shock tactics and he begins to really fall for her, leaving him torn between loyalty to Dustin and his growing attraction toward Alexis.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The director gave the actors, and particularly Dean Cook, complete freedom to improvise and often allowed them to deviate significantly from the script. It happened that the same scene was filmed over 20 takes, and each time the actors came up with something new, and gradually everyone came to an understanding of what exactly was required in the scene and how best to film it (for example, in close-up or from a distance).
  • In the episode where Dane Cook’s character grabs Kate Hudson’s character by the “rear,” prosthetic buttocks were used.
