Short description

A detailed chronicle of the famous 1969 tour of the United States by the British rock band The Rolling Stones, which culminated with the disastrous and tragic concert held on December 6 at the Altamont Speedway Free Festival, an event of historical significance, as it marked the end of an era: the generation of peace and love suddenly became the generation of disillusionment.

What's left behind the scenes

  • In the original version of the film, which was shown in theaters, Mick Jagger used profanity on camera in two or three instances. These expressions were removed when the film was broadcast on television.
  • George Lucas was one of the cinematographers on this film. Unfortunately, after filming approximately 30 meters of footage, his camera jammed, and all the footage he had shot up to that point was rejected and did not make it into the film – with the exception of one long shot of a crowd of spectators.
  • After reviewing footage of Meredith Hunter's (1951-1969) murder, police identified the killer as Alan Passaro (1948-1985), a member of the "Hell's Angels." Passaro was arrested and charged with murder. However, at trial, it was clearly demonstrated that Hunter had drawn a pistol before Passaro pulled a knife, so Passaro's actions were deemed self-defense, and he was acquitted.
