Investigating judge Iman grapples with paranoia amid political unrest in Tehran. When his gun vanishes, he suspects his wife and daughters, imposing draconian measures that strain family ties as societal rules crumble.

- Director and screenwriter Mohammad Rasoulof was supposed to be on the jury of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. In July 2022, he was arrested for criticizing the authorities' crackdown on protests in the city of Abadan in southwestern Iran. In May 2024, Rasoulof's lawyer announced that his client had been sentenced to 8 years in prison, along with corporal punishment, a fine, and confiscation of property. A few days later, Rasoulof himself issued a statement saying that he had managed to flee the country and was now hiding in one of the European countries. Later, Rasoulof appeared at the premiere of the film in Cannes, where he posed on the red carpet with portraits of actresses Soheila Golestani and Miss Zareha, who were unable to leave Iran.
