Short description

After four college girls rob a restaurant to fund their spring break in Florida, they get entangled with a weird dude with his own criminal agenda.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The film's director and screenwriter, Harmony Korine, wrote the script in 10 days.
  • Emma Roberts was originally cast in the role of Brit, but due to scheduling conflicts, she turned down the project, and Ashley Benson replaced her.
  • Selena Gomez absolutely refused to appear nude on camera, so a body double was used in some scenes.
  • To simulate cocaine use, the girls had to sniff powdered vitamin B-12.
  • James Franco's character was modeled after rapper Dangeruss. There were many rumors that another rapper named Riff Raff was the inspiration for the character. But Franco shed light on the situation in his 2012 interview with GQ.
  • Vanessa Anne Hudgens wore a wig during filming.
  • The scenes that take place at the school were filmed at New College of Florida in Sarasota, Florida.
  • Rachel Corine is married to director Harmony Korine.
  • Selena Gomez's mother convinced her to personally go to Harmony Korine's home for an audition.
  • The first R-rated film featuring Selena Gomez.
  • The gangster wears glasses with the inscription Gucci Mane. Actor Gucci Mane plays the role of Archie in this film.
  • Harmony Korine offered Selena Gomez the roles of Brit (Ashley Benson) or Candy (Vanessa Anne Hudgens), but she declined, saying she wasn't ready for such explicit roles yet.
