Fresh out of law school and desperate for work, idealistic rookie Rudy Baylor takes on a powerful insurance company accused of denying a dying boy’s claim. Teaming up with a scrappy, unlicensed paralegal, he finds himself in a David-versus-Goliath courtroom battle that tests his ethics, courage, and belief in justice.

- The scene in which Danny DeVito’s character wakes up Matt Damon’s character, who had fallen asleep on a bench, was filmed unexpectedly for Damon, as he had actually fallen asleep during the work on this episode.
- During filming, Matt Damon gradually gained weight, which he specifically lost for his role in "Courage Under Fire" (1996).
- Director Francis Ford Coppola instructed Matt Damon to move into his character's apartment to better get into the role. He then secretly inserted several shots into the film taken during Damon's morning awakenings.
- Danny DeVito used prosthetic teeth on the set.
