Short description

Finally released from prison, Elwood Blues is once again enlisted by Sister Mary Stigmata in her latest crusade to raise funds for a children's hospital. Hitting the road to re-unite the band and win the big prize at the New Orleans Battle of the Bands, Elwood is pursued cross-country by the cops.

What's left behind the scenes

  • 100 police cars are involved in the resulting chase.
  • To reprise the role of Elwood, which he had previously played in John Landis's 'The Blues Brothers' (1980), Dan Aykroyd lost 40 kg.
  • The list of reasons that Dan Aykroyd's character recites for seeing things through ends with the name Robert K. Weiss. He was a studio executive who convinced Landis and Aykroyd not to abandon the film. Both were completely unimpressed with the script and expected the film to be a failure.
