The character of Linda was added at the last moment – literally a couple of days before the end of filming.
Harrison Ford initially intended to decline the role of Henry because he had already played a lawyer in "Presumed Innocent" (1990) and feared being typecast. He agreed to star when he learned that Henry would only be a lawyer for the first 10 minutes of the film.
