Short description

A mouthy and feisty taxicab driver has hot tips for a green and inept cop set on solving a string of New York City bank robberies committed by a quartet of female Brazilian bank robbers.

Initially, the studio offered Luc Besson the director's position, but he limited himself to producer and screenwriter roles. Ultimately, Tim Story directed the film.
For the filming of this movie, actresses Queen Latifah and Gisele Bündchen underwent two months of training in dangerous driving.
Queen Latifah performed many of the stunts in the film herself, while Gisele Bündchen required a stunt double for most scenes.
In the film, actor Jimmy Fallon demonstrates no ability to drive. However, in real life, the actor learned to drive at the age of fourteen.
The role of the robber Vanessa is Gisele Bündchen's debut in a major motion picture.
In the initial version of the script, the robbers were not supposed to survive. However, when Luc Besson learned of the screenwriters' intentions, he personally rewrote the script.
