Short description

A coffin-dragging gunslinger and a prostitute become embroiled in a bitter feud between a merciless masked clan and a band of Mexican revolutionaries.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Japanese director Takashi Miike filmed *Sukiyaki Western Django* (2007) with a clear reference to Sergio Corbucci’s film. In particular, the Japanese film also features a coffin.
  • In Quentin Tarantino’s *Django Unchained*, Franco Nero played a cameo role with an ironic reference to his role in *Django*.
  • Django's machine gun is a fake. It's a hybrid between a French "Mitrailleuse de Reffye", a Gatling gun, and a Maxim machine gun with water cooling. The ammunition belt does not move, and cartridges are present on both sides of the weapon. At least on the other side there should be an empty belt. The belt is also positioned too far from the machine gun mechanism.
  • There's a continuity error in the final scene: Django's revolver fires seven shots, despite having a six-round capacity.
