Short description

A washed up golf pro working at a driving range tries to qualify for the US Open in order to win the heart of his succesful rival's girlfriend.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Before filming the movie, Kevin Costner took golf lessons for a long time, and he performed many of the shots in the film himself.
  • The film was shot on location at one of the American golf clubs in Tubac, Arizona.
  • The final scene, in which the protagonist stubbornly attempts to make a very difficult shot and spends 12 attempts on it, is partially based on real events.
