After getting into a car accident while drunk on the day of her sister's wedding, Gwen Cummings is given a choice between prison or a rehab center. She chooses rehab, but is extremely resistant to taking part in any of the treatment programs they have to offer, refusing to admit that she has an alcohol addiction.

What's left behind the scenes

The episode with sex in a wheelchair-accessible elevator is based on a real case where people with uncontrollable sexual urges would sneak away from group therapy sessions to indulge their addiction in the elevator. They believed they wouldn't be caught there.
In reality, Sandra Bullock is allergic to horses.
It took 2 weeks to create three chains of different sizes.
Preparing for her role in this film, Sandra Bullock spent some time in a rehabilitation clinic.
Before filming scenes where her character shakes, Sandra Bullock would drink a triple shot of espresso.
During group therapy sessions, drawings are shown in the background. A significant portion of them were created by patients from rehabilitation clinics.
