Short description

A depressed man moves back in with his parents following a recent heartbreak and finds himself with two women.

What's left behind the scenes

The character of Michelle was written for Gwyneth Paltrow, who inspired James Gray to write the screenplay. They met at someone's party, and Paltrow complained that all his films were for men, so he wrote this script to disprove that claim.
The plot of the film is based on F.M. Dostoevsky's story "White Nights".
