Short description

Best friends Marie and Alexia decide to spend a quiet weekend at Alexia's parents' secluded farmhouse. But on the night of their arrival, the girls' idyllic getaway turns into an endless night of horror.

What's left behind the scenes

  • On the back of the maniac’s jacket, you can see the name of a company called “Aja & Predo,” where the first word is the director’s last name.
  • During the filming of the car running over the camera, so much fake blood got on it that when the camera was later used on another film, it was discovered that fake blood was still on it during setup.
  • The film is set in the south of France, but it was filmed in Romania for financial reasons and because the landscape there resembled that of France.
  • Only scenes with Marie and Alex in the killer's car were filmed in the studio.
  • While driving through the forest, Cecile De France was practically always at the wheel.
  • The exterior of Alex's house was filmed at a dilapidated old mill, which was restored specifically for the filming.
  • The film's title translates to "High Voltage".
  • During the filming of a car crash, so much fake blood got on the camera that when it was subsequently used on the set of another film, it was discovered that fake blood remained on it.
