Short description

After a top-secret experiment misfires, a scientist may be the only man left alive in the world.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The plot of Craig Harrison's book, which served as the basis for the film adaptation, revolves around a time loop situation where everything begins and ends at 6:12 AM. In the film, Bruno Lawrence's character throws a clock at a radio in a fit of rage. The broken clock still shows the same time – 6:12 AM.
  • This film was nominated for 8 New Zealand Film and Television Awards and won all eight categories.
  • The first science fiction film ever produced in New Zealand.
